Datarace Camera Car has been designed for motorsports with a single purpose: providing great videos that include all the technical information that will help you improve your performance. All this in the most robust and reliable system ever.

In its new version, the electronics/mechanics have been further improved, and Datarace is now even easier to manage.

Real time data overlayed on videos

Datarace overlays all the data you need  from different sources.

From GPS: track map and vehicle position, as well as speed, lap and split times.

From Ferrari Genuine  loggers connected to your ECU: RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures and – in presence of additional sensors – also their values.

All these info will be overlayed on videos in each single point of the track.

DATARACE WITH GPS LAP TIMES MODULE (DASHBOARD)

Datarace Lap Times module  is a completely automatic lap timer based on GPS technology.
Using its GPS based location, it identifies the finish line coordinates and automatically starts sampling and displaying lap times.

Of course, Datarace Lap Times can be used in all of your performance situations: circuits, hill climbs, regularity, point to point races, and performance tests. Datarace Lap Times displays and records speed, accelerations, braking… all of the data you need while racing.

Then you can review your data immediately after each session, this helps you analyze and improve your performance.
The most important feature of Datarace is to show your lap times.

When it is powered up, it automatically recognizes the start/finish line coordinates of the track you are visiting based on the huge list of World tracks stored on Datarace’s internal memory, this allows very precise lap times with very little effort.

Connecting Datarace Dashboard to your PC, your data can be analyzed and shown in tables, graphs and histograms using the dedicated professional software, which is included with Datarace.

Datarace Dashboard offers all the functions of Datarace, plus the ability to connect to your car’s Engine Control Unit (ECU): a powerful data acquisition system recording important data – like RPM, throttle position and much more – linked to your position on track.

ECU connection

The dashboard is connected to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of your car to sample, record and display. This data can be displayed on the generated video. Additional sensors and complicated wiring are not required with ECU supplied information. You can get all the info you need to improve your driving skills like RPM, throttle position, brake pressure and much more.

Dedicated software for videos configuration and analysis

Datarace uses a new dedicated software which allows to configure all details of your videos and to get plenty of fun and information out of them.

The video of a whole session, once downloaded on your PC, can now be split – with a simple click – in individual videos of each lap: so that you can simultaneously watch two of them and check where you were faster or slower.

Automatic Start&Stop

You are on the starting grid, ready to sprint, your adrenaline reaching the climax: the last thing you can worry about is… switching on the camera. You have other things to worry about.

That is why it switches on/off automatically and starts/stops recording the same way.

No “wave effect” with the new sensor and improved video quality

Never again will you experience that seasick “wave effect” you get when watching videos recorded by a generic camera, when the car rolls over 7000 RPM.  Datarace has been designed for that environment and for those vibrations.

PROPRIETARY LENSES DESIGNED FOR MOTORSPORTS

Datarace telecentric lens with six elements reduces distortion to the minimum and will withstand track vibrations for years.

FRONT MOUNT COLOT TFT DISPLAY FOR IN-CAR INSTALLATION

On-board cameras are to be installed inside the car. The DATARACE 128×128 pixel TFT color display is on the front, not on rear – where general cameras place the viewfinder.

Datarace  videos have files are smaller than HD cameras because the H264 compression system parameters have been optimized to a perfect balance between video quality and file size.

Files are stored on SD cards: with current SD cards reaching 128GB capacity, you can record more than 30 hours of high-quality videos without changing the card.

Designed to withstand extreme on-track working conditions

An on-board camera designed for motorsports must guarantee great resistance against the extreme working conditions typical of track racing, such as: strong and prolonged vibrations and extreme high and low temperatures.

That is the reason why Datarace is made in machinery molded aluminum, just like many competition car parts.
