A behind-the-scenes look at the 488 Spider’s official video shoot

Maranello, 25 September – You’ll have realised it from the snippets we’ve revealed on social media: the official video of Maranello’s latest arrival, the Ferrari 488 Spider, was shot in Norway.

Now we bring you a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot which took place against a glorious backdrop of fjords, forests, sea and endless light (the sun barely sets at all at those latitudes in August). Eagle-eyed viewers will have recognised the breath-taking Atlantic Road winding its way along the Norwegian coast. It links the islands between the localities of Molde and Kristiansund with a string of stunning bridges, making it particularly spectacular during the storms that lash the area in winter. You may also have asked yourself about the equally astonishing strip of asphalt snaking its way up a mountainside on which the 488 Spider unleashed its power. This is the Trollstigen or Troll Footpath which has an incline of 9% and no less than 11 hairpin bends. Built in 1936, it has become one of Western Norway’s most popular attractions thanks to the dramatic nature that surrounds it.

Another curious fact: the place where the 488 Spider is parked in the video was also used as a location in the Alex Garland science fiction film, Ex Machina, released last year.
