Ferrari DNA on show at Goodwood

It isn’t just the elite who will be representing Ferrari at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11-14. The F12berlinetta will make its debut at this event alongside three cars – an FF, a 458 Spider and Eric Clapton’s one-off SP12 EC – which are representing the programme of personalisation that the company offers its clients. But in addition there will be another 16 cars that symbolise the two sides to the Prancing Horse: sport and luxury cars.

From the F10 with which Fernando Alonso won four races in his debut year with the Scuderia – here in the hands of his compatriot Marc Gené – to the 166 MM Barchetta from 1950, each of the six decades of Ferrari’s racing history are present. There are extraordinary cars like the 250 GTO and the F40, cars which have gone down in history even despite not having raced like the 312 B3 “Spazzaneve” (Snowplough) or those which never achieved the level of success that Enzo Ferrari would have wanted such as the 375 Indy or the 312 F1-1968. There are cars that owe their name to races, such as the 365 GTB/4 Daytona or the 250 GT Tour de France Speciale, prototypes that have won practically everything such as the 312 PB or others that didn’t do as well, like the 512 S. Then there are road cars that epitomise their era – from the 250 Europa Pininfarina to the 250 GT SWB/C, from the 250 GT California to the 250 LM – plus racing versions that matched their success on the road on the track, such as the 430 GT. There’s something for every taste in what will surely be a feast for the eyes of anyone who will be able to see them for real. For everyone else there will be a rich gallery of photographs and videos available at www.ferrari.com.
