F1 Clienti and XX Programmes: the thrill of the track

Maranello, 16th November – The Finali Mondiali are not just about competition, they are also about passion, emotion and fascination. Aside from the 458 Challenge EVOs, in fact, our F1 Clienti and the XX Programme cars will also taking to the track at Abu Dhabi.

The single-seaters. In all, 15 client F1 single-seaters covering a 30-year timespan are expected at Yas Marina. TK Mak will be at the wheel of a splendid 1980 312 T5 raced by Gilles Villeneuve and Jody Scheckter, while Jingzu Sun is taking out the F10 in which Fernando Alonso fought for the 2010 title until the very last race of the season. The spectators in the grandstands will be treated the unique sound of the Maranello F1 V12 engine too, thanks to Peter Greenfield, who is fielding Gerhard Berger’s 412 T2. This was the last Formula 1 car to sport the historic power unit which was banned the following season just as the great Michael Schumacher joined Ferrari. There will be many of the latter’s cars there too – the ones he build his legendary career in from the early 90s onwards, flanked by Brazilian Rubens Barrichello. Also on the track will be two F2007s, the single-seater in which Räikkönen won the Drivers’ title, and two F2008s, the car that gave the Scuderia its 16th Constructors’ win.

The laboratory cars. The 599XX and FXXs, cars designed specifically for the track and reserved for a select group of exclusive clients, will also be out on the asphalt. A total of 19 599XXs are being fielded by drivers from all over the world, including former Scuderia Ferrari man René Arnoux. There will also be four FXXs driven by Germans Bernhard Dransmann and Eberhard Jung, Australian Steve Wyatt and Canadian Eric Cheung.
