Montezemolo visits Ferrari Summer Center
Over 650 children take part, as the President and Marc Gene pay a visit
Maranello, 23 July 2014
President Montezemolo and Scuderia Ferrari test driver Marc Gene today visited 650 children at the Ferrari Summer Centre.
“I am very keen on this initiative that is an amazing example of company welfare and a well run collaboration with local institutions,” said Montezemolo. “All those involved in the organization have done an extraordinary job.”
This is the fifth year of the Ferrari Summer Centres and it continues to grow: there were only 100 children taking part in 2010, while there are over 650 this year. Every day, from 7.30 to 20.30, Ferrari employees can leave their children from the ages of 3 to 14 in the hands of 80 education professionals and the service is free of charge.
This is yet another activity that is part of the initiatives set up by Ferrari for its staff, to meet their needs. “With the Summer Centres, families can leave their children with qualified educational staff, in a safe and quiet place, close to the factory, which gives the parents a real rest during the school holidays,” added Montezemolo.
To mark the visit, the children put on a performance with singing and dancing, much to the delight of the guests. Before leaving the children and the staff to their activities, the President thanked the Mayor of Maranello, Massimiliano Morini, for his continued support for the initiative and the parish priest of Maranello, Father Paolo Monelli for his coordinating efforts.
