Montezemolo visits the summer camp
There was a surprise in store this morning for the children of Ferrari’s employees at the factory’s Summer Camp in Maranello. President Luca di Montezemolo joined CEO, Amedeo Felisa, in a visit to greet the young Ferraristi who gave them a festive welcome. The President was inundated with gifts, sketches and other small mementos from the arts and crafts workshops the kids take part in during the summer holidays, and they also laid on a small show.
It was also a memorable day for the 40 children from Medolla, one of theareas most affected by the recent earthquakes, who were special guests of Ferrari’s summer camp.
The day closed with a special party at the Fiorano track with the Scuderia drivers, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Jules Bianchi who signed autographs and had their photos taken with their young fans.
The Ferrari Summer Camps are part of the Formula Uomo programme which provides a wide range of services to Ferrari’s workforce and their families. The Summer Camps are open during the kids’ summer holidays and there are no fewer than three different camps – two in Maranello and one in Modena – which every day host over 500 children aged between three and 14.
Over and above the Summer Camp, other initiatives in the Formula Uomo programme include free school books, movie premieres and medical check-ups for all the family.
