488 GTB and FXX K debut in dynamic style
Goodwood, 27 June – Ferrari’s 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed started in style today, with an incredible display from Ferrari’s Corse Clienti department with several cars from the XX Programme tackling the challenging Goodwood Hillclimb. Leading the Supercar Run was the incredible FXX K, Ferrari’s latest hybrid XX Programmes car with 1050CV and a F1-developed Kinetic Energy Recovery System. The FXX-K was chased up the Goodwood Hill by two additional cars from XX Programmes, the front-engined 599XX and the FXX, the very first “XX” car which launched the programme in 2005 that allows a very special and restricted group of Ferrari customer to drive this car helping the Maranello company developing the Ferrari of the future thanks to their indications to the engineers.
The crowds at Goodwood were also treated to the UK debut of the recently launched 488 GTB, the company’s first mid-engined twin-turbo V8 since the iconic 288 GTO and F40, with an amazing 670CV and a number of new aerodynamic solutions that have been developed by the company’s GT racing programme. The 488 GTB was joined in the Supercar Run by the California T, the F12berlinetta, a LaFerrari and a very special “One-Off” F12 TRS. A 458 Challenge also made its first appearance at the Festival of Speed, demonstrating the clear link between the company’s race cars and GT cars of the range.
