The 458 Challenge is reserved for owners competing in the Prancing Horse’s client-oriented single-make Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli championship, while the GT2, GT3 and Grand-Am versions of the 458 GT are aimed at drivers that demand a car that remains exceptionally competitive at even the highest levels to compete in the many GT competitions worldwide.
The Ferrari Challenge is an ever-youthful championship, fresh and full of energy, a series which over the course of its 22 years has known how to renew itself regularly, to become ever more interesting.
In line with a tradition begun by Enzo Ferrari himself, Ferrari’s commitment to the track has always extended well beyond the world of Formula F1 and also embraces GT racing which has even stronger links to its road car production. That commitment has also produced the 458 Italia GT of which there are several versions – GT2, GT3 and Grand-Am – honed to suit the technical rules of the many championships in which it competes.
FXX-K is Ferrari’s research and development programme centring around a laboratory car based on Maranello’s first hybrid. The K in the new car’s moniker is a reference to the KERS kinetic energy recovery system used to maximise performance on the track.
