A day in Ferrari thanks to Telethon
Maranello, May 19 – A special online auction was held last December to win a day at the Ferrari factory, with the proceeds going to the Telethon charity. Today the auction winner, Mr Lin from Taiwan, along with his wife, spent the day visiting Ferrari’s headquarters. After touring the production areas and the race department, the tour ended with a few memorable laps of the Fiorano track with test driver Andrea Bertolini. Mr Lin commented the experience “It exceeded my expectations: everything was exciting. I was particurarly impressed by the passion I could perceive in all areas. The factory is very special and different from anything I have seen before. The precision employed to make such special cars was amazing. I would like to thank Telethon and Ferrari for such a special experience!”. To finish the day on a perfect note, the guests met F1 driver Felipe Massa, who gave them his team cap complete with autograph.
Ferrari supports Telethon, the Foundation financing research projects in the areas of muscular dystrophy and other genetic diseases, through various activities, among which the up-coming fund-raising “Partita del Cuore” football match with the Telethon team and the “Nazionale Cantanti” (the Italian pop stars’ national team), next May 25 in Modena, Stadio Braglia. The Scuderia Ferrari drivers Ferando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella will be playing in the Telethon team together with the Team Principle Stefano Domenicali. The game will be shown live on Italy’s main TV channel, Rai 1.
