GT & Sport Cars
Maranello, 12th May
Ferraris made record prices at the largest luxury car auction of the spring which took place in Monte Carlo on Saturday, May 10th. The undisputed star of the event was a 1966 275 GTB/C with a Scaglietti body which changed hands for 5.7 million euro. The racing car is considered incredibly rare by experts and completely entranced the audience.
The second highest bid of the day was also achieved by a Prancing Horse car: a first series 1959 250 GT Pinin Farina Cabriolet. The open-top Ferrari (number 36 of a total of 40 built) sold for 4.7 million euro. A further two Maranello-built cars also went for over two million euro: the racing Dino 206 S that once belonged to gentleman driver Edoardo Lualdi Gabardi (2.72 million euro) and a 1967 330 GTS Pininfarina (2.12 million euro).
