A special Ferrari for a special event

Maranello, 5 July – One prepares for a special event in a special way and the Goodwood Festival of Speed is definitely an important and traditional event on the British motoring calendar and Ferrari will take part with a top flight range of cars. The queen of the show will be the F12 berlinetta, the fastest road car ever produced in Maranello, which will make its debut at Goodwood, while in the role of maids of honour will be three cars representing various levels of personalisation offered by the Maranello marque: an FF kitted out by the “Carrozzeria Scaglietti”, a 458 Spider whose specification makes the most of all the Tailor-Made option can offer and the SP12 EC, a one-off designed by Eric Clapton with experts from Maranello’s Progetti Speciali department. The icing on the cake is the F10 with which Fernando Alonso took four of his five wins in 2010, his first season driving for the Scuderia, which on this occasion will be driven by Marc Gene.
Tens of thousands of fans will flock to Goodwood from the 11 to 14 July to admire and hear the multi-award winning 6,266 cc, 740 hp V12, recently named “Best Performance Engine” as part of the International Engine of the Year Awards, which powers the F12 berlinetta to a maximum speed of over 330 km/h, thanks also to a level of aerodynamic efficiency augmented by active components and an F1-type transmission with seven speed gearbox mated to a double clutch.
A panoramic glass roof that can maintain a constant temperature within the cockpit will be one of the main options available on the FF, the first four seater to come out of Maranello with all-wheel drive. The 458 Spider has a very special look, with Ice Pearl White paint, featuring Silverstone Grey sports stripes running down the centre, while inside one finds black and grey leather, with the two themes brought together by a carbon Ice Pearl White insert, rather like a pinstripe.
