Ferrari 458 Spider and F12berlinetta takes two honours in L’Automobile Magazine’s Best Cars 2013 awards
GT & Sport Cars
Ferrari has taken not one, but two titles in the Best Cars 2013 awards held by the prestigious French motoring magazine, L’Automobile Magazine. The 458 Spider was elected Best Cabriolet and the F12berlinetta was voted Best Coupé.
This takes the number of leading international awards won by these models to over 25, in addition to which both cars’ engines have also been the object of critical acclaim – the 570 HP, 4.5-litre V8 powering the 458 Spider has won the International Engine of the Year ‘Best Performance Engine’ award for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012, and the F12berlinetta’s 740 HP, 6.3-litre V12 was voted EVO’s 2012 Engine of the Year.
The 458 Spider and the F12berlinetta are part of Ferrari’s strongest ever line-up of models, following the company’s policy of engineering different Ferraris to suit different types of Ferrarista. The 458 Spider continues Ferrari’s lengthy tradition for building exciting, high-performance, mid-engined convertibles and is the first of its kind to feature a folding hard-top, while the F12berlinetta delivers unprecedented power, speed and aerodynamic efficiency with an innovative design that redefines the elegant proportions typical of Ferrari’s front-engined V12 cars.
