Osaka, 9 October 2016 – Following the Osaka Midousuji Festival where F1 cars dynamically ran through the city last year, the Ferrari Riverside Party took place on the main river of Osaka this year. This event was organized by Osaka Prefecture, Suito Osaka Partners and Automobiles Are Culture Project with the support of Ferrari Japan, to showcase the special occasion to celebrate 50 years of Ferrari in Japan.
100 Ferrari owners came from all across the country to display their beloved vehicles at Nakanoshima Place. Ferrari tifosi of all ages were thrilled by a beautiful collection of Ferrari supercars representing the 50 years history of Ferrari in Japan, including LaFerrari, Testarossa, 599 GTO and current models such as 488 GTB and California T. The highlight of the event was the spectacular river parade of the iconic Ferraris on the boats. The crew left Nakanoshima Island with the beautiful Ferrari F2003-GA at the head, and Ferraris on boats glided over the river delighting the fans at the riverside. After an hour journey through the city, the boats arrived at Dotombori bridge which is the most famous landmark spot for Osaka residents and tourists, and welcomed by over 3,000 Ferrari owners and fans waving flags with the commemorative logo of 50 years of Ferrari in Japan.
At the ceremony where the Governor of Osaka and the Consul of Italy attended, Enrico Galliera, Senior Vice President of Commercial and Marketing of Ferrari S.p.A. commented through a video letter, “Osaka shows a great connection with the Ferrari brand this year again. I appreciate all of you who attend the event, and thank you for organizing another great event where we celebrate 50 years of Ferrari in Japan.”
