The world of Ferrari Attività Sportive GT, the real competitive essence of the Maranello marque, includes two cars for GT competitions, at least one car competing in each of nearly 30 FIA national and international championships, three continental one-make series and two exclusive activities such as F1 Clienti and XX Programmes.
GT Competitions have always been part of Ferrari DNA. Two new cars have been introduced in 2016: the 488 GTE and the 488 GT3. These two turbo engine cars have been projected to compete in the most demanding endurance races and the most important national and international GT series. The 488 GTE won two Manufacturers’ titles in the FIA World Endurance Championshp, the 488 GT3 has won more than 100 races, two IMSA GTD class titles and one Asian Le Mans Series Championship.
The 488 Challenge is the first ever turbo-charged model to race and is the most powerful Challenge car ever, powered by the 670 cv 3.9-litre V8 derived from the series production engine that took the 2016 and 2017 International Engine of the Year Award.
FXX-K is Ferrari’s research and development programme centring around a laboratory car based on Maranello’s first hybrid. The K in the new car’s moniker is a reference to the KERS kinetic energy recovery system used to maximise performance on the track. The 2018 season will be the introduction of the brand new EVO kit.
