XX Concorso d’Eleganza Cavallino Classic honours Ferrari Classiche with numerous awards
Palm Beach (USA), 17 February 2011 – Numerous awards have been given to cars certified or restored by Maranello’s Ferrari Classiche department on the occasion of the 2011 Cavallino Classic Concorso d’Eleganza, traditionally held in Florida at the end of January. The success was confirmed by the official results published today by the prestigious U.S. American organisation, this year in its 20th edition, especially dedicated to historical cars from Ferrari.
The 1961 Ferrari 250 California chassis no: 2505 restored in Maranello in 2009 and 2010 won the Platinum Award in class 2 exclusively for 250 GTs as well as the “Outstanding Factory-Certified Ferrari” Award. Furthermore the same car won two trophies at the Classic Sports Sunday held at Mar-a-Lago: the “Excellence in Class” among the Ferrari GT model, as voted by a committee of honored judges, and the “Personal Favorite”, with the votes of the majority of the numerous public present at the event. All in all nine cars from Ferrari with Certification of authenticity issued by Ferrari Classiche won the precious Platinum Award. Some of those cars also won special trophies such as “La Coppa per Dodici Cilindri” for the 250 GT Zagato chassis no: 0515, “La Coppa per Sei Cilindri” for the Dino 246 GTS chassis no: 08092 and the “Competizione Cup” for the 250 California chassis no: 1603.
