Ferrari Virtual Academy – Nürburgring: the final challenge

Maranello, 11 November – Today the Ferrari Virtual Academy – the first virtual online simulator from Maranello – presented the third and final release: the legendary Nürburgring circuit. The software update is available on the website and includes the famous German track, essential to take part in the extraordinary tournament, where at the end of the year the five fastest drivers in the world will be awarded a very special prize. The time to beat on the Nürburgring has been set by Giancarlo Fisichella with 1.30.135 for one lap.

The final challenge is approaching and numerous fans are taking part in this extraordinary initiative dedicated to those with the best lap times on the three tracks. The top prize is the unique opportunity to take part in a test with the Ferrari Driver Academy, the programme launched by the Scuderia Ferrari at the end of 2009, to select and form young talented drivers in the world of motorsports.

With the second release, which included the Mugello circuit, Ferrari fans could already experience the emotions of driving a F10 with an updated aerodynamic set up and software with new functionalities, combined with new driving controls such as the strategy of a block in the differential while braking (8 set ups), in acceleration (8 set ups) and an engine brake (4 set ups).

The 2010 Ferrari Virtual Academy can be purchased and downloaded directly online on for 25 Euros for the complete package including Fiorano + Mugello+ Nürburgring and for 9.90 Euros for the Nürburgring update. In the “Classifiche” section the lap times on the Nürburgring circuit will be published as of 12 November. These lap times are valid for the weekly prizes and the overall classification, which includes the lap times set by the users on the three circuits, valid for the top prize.
